Some people say firing your kiln is like Christmas because of the suprise. You never know what you will find when you open it.

I think it's more like being pregnant. Everything in it is something you put there. Something you created with your heart or to express what you were thinking, who you are, experiences, feelings, thoughts, people you know, things you see. Will it have all of its arms and legs...and feet? I'm hoping for a pot but it could be shards.

That's not a kiln shelf stuck to a piece with drippy glaze! Er...it's a custom display platform conveniently already attatched to the piece in an artistic manner to expose the best features of the work!

Everything that goes in you hope will come out well ...turn out the right color, in one piece, with good texture and you hope there will be someone else in this world willing to love it.

    p.s. I'm firing my kiln.

    It's not yours!!! :p~

I just mean it's like these are my little, fragile babies in my kiln and it's possible not all of them will make it but I have big hopes.

I googled for your grandmother the potter and all I found was this young looking, blonde, recent college graduate...Is that her? Your grandma looks good!

  7. It runs in the fam..There may not be much on her through the internet. I Have bought a few of her pieces on Ebay and at some auction houses.

  8. When I saw the title of this thread and whom the author was, I stopped breathing and clicked SO FAST....

    (Ahem).
So. Good for you and I hope everything turns out. I had several family members that owned Kilns.
A word to the wise - When you store your items in the house, be wary of young boys with wicked arms that like to throw balls in the house. (Not that I'm speaking from experience, mind you, but I *was* able to arrange a few things so it took a long time before my mom discovered the accidental "beheading" of her Angels.
She had placed all in a row.)

I'm sorry what I said offended you. It appears I have yet again failed to express myself correctly. Other than that there's nothing I can do but leave your thread.

EDIT Hamma please delete my posts in this thread.

    Apology accepted.

Please remember for future that young people read these threads and CDL upholds certain values, one of which is being respectful toward women. I know it is a rarity among online gaming organizations. Thanks.
