Power is about the same in both cars. Both are 6-speed with ~8200rpm redline. The civic has a rear-slip differential and is cheaper, but the RSX has better options...

    I am so lost :( :(

  2. Isn't a Civic front wheel drive?

I would pick the Civic, insurance may be cheaper, repair would be about the same. I think you find more upgrade parts with the Civic. IHO

  3. Yeah, oops, I ment to say front-slip...whatever that crap is that transfers more power to the wheel with better traction ;p

  4. I was hoping that maybe there was a new rear wheel drive car I wasn't aware of. I wasn't poking fun. ;)

  5. I want my next car to be an Acura RSX...

my wife wants it to be a Hyundai.

    I dig the Acura.

I'm with BD here. I took the RSX out for a test drive when they first came out. Fell in love with it. Then this 'baby' thing came along and my dream of owning a sportscar got put on the backburner until I reach my mid-age crisis.

  7. I like the second car better. They both look similar though, but I think the second car has more.......how you say.......panache

Both cars are awesome since they are both Honda's to start with, but i would pick the type S since i used to work at a acura dealership

I'll just stop by Texas after the rally next year.

"Honey, don't bother picking me up at the airport. I'm ahhh driving back to New York. Yes, that's right. I'm driving back. I bought a car down here! No, I have not lost my mind. No, I did not check with you before I did it. But, you see hun, I'm the man of the house. I wear the big pants....I think she just hung up on me...."

i would have to say the rsx, ive driven both (yesh yesh, lunar can drive) the rsx just feels like it rides smoother, has a little more pickup (or at least it felt like it)
but in all honesty, i dont really like anything that comes from honda :p
    mitsubishi/eagle ftw! :D

  13. You should buy the:

I should note that I haven't driven the latest iteration of the Honda, so I can't really comment on it. However, I've driven the RSX several times when I was shopping for a new car (it was either the RSX or an Infiniti G35 coupe). The RSX is a really fun drive. It benefits from its relatively light weight of ~2800 pounds (about as much as a Honda S2000, and only a couple hundred pounds heavier than a Mazda Miata), so the RSX Type S feels very quick and nimble. Decent miles per gallon too, somewhere in the region of 25/30. Not bad for a sporty car. I've also seen several heavily upgraded RSXs, so I don't think finding parts will be a big deal, if that's what you're after. Overall, a really cool car that seems to get a lot of praise.

The Civic is made by Honda. -The End

  15. Get the Civic.
    Cheaper in the long run.

  16. And so is the Acura.
