Real or Fake?

For clarification, the shark hasn't been alive since prehistoric times, it is that species of shark which has existed since those times, and seem to have evolved little since then. Also, what made the the sighting rather unique is that while the species of shark is rare in general, they also are normally found 2,000 feet below the surface and not in shallow costal regions.

...so yes, it is real.

 

what pisses me off..is that they tried to move it...i mean really...you know the things system has got to be delicate..it has lived for so many years in a particular enviornment why would they think that moving it somewhere to "study" it...it wouldn't die?

we have issues out here too. i love living near a national park. we try to take advantage of it as much as we can since it is so awsome, and sometimes we forget just how wonderful it is. but nothing pisses me off more than seeing people out walking on areas they put up signs that say to keep off of , because the areas are delicate, and are in restoration, because we have trampled and ruined them. People just honestly dont care sometimes and it makes me mad. or they warn you during elk bugling season to not leave your cars and you got idiots out there approaching the wild life, i honestly would not feel sorry for the idiot that gets gored by an elk. these are WILD animals people. geesh

Actually it was dying when it was found. They just took the thing to the aquarium hoping they could do something.

It was chased into shallower water and had it's swim bladder pop.

Sad, but not likely something that 'we' had anything to do with. Too deep and the wrong place to get snagged in a net.

Sigh.

And here I was hoping for some kind of 'breast' thread.

Thats like blaming a doctor who couldn't save someone with a fatal bullet wound to the head. The shark came up from the deep so it could die. It was already inevitable. The shark was already dying. They tried to keep it alive by relocating it to a marine facility. If they had left it there, it would have died within a few hours anyway.

I'm not saying people don't interfere with nature in a negative way, but people blaming the death of this shark on the scientists that moved it apparently didn't read the whole story.
