so many mmo's...

    Lets see here...
    There is Vanguard, recently released. A good bit of CDL playin, lots of features including friggin boats, challenging.

    LotRO. Well its friggin LotR.. how cool is that. Another group of CDL into that as well.

    Gods and Heroes. It's being developed here in San Fran... met a couple of the devs including the boyfriend of my girlfriends sister... so a little biasness towards that one.

    Warhammer Online, Well again its another franchise that I like a lot, and the vids I have seen on Game Trailers recently show some nice action.

    Nightfall
    Saw a vid recently, looked kind of 'meh, didn't get a lot of info about it. (also has boats!)

    Alganon
    another meh, imo

    Tabula Rasa
    I didn't really get much info on that yet...

    Age of Conan... I saw a movie of the engine rendering terrain.. probably the prittiest mmo out of the lot I think. Conan is a little bit before my time tho :p

    Trek'ies unite on Star Trek Online!

    DaoC aparently got a bit of a makeover? They are still adding new content and seem to be still as awsome as before... even though I have never played it

    Ultima Online also got a make over... always was interested in that one but never bought it.

    2 Pirate mmo's!?!

    Huxley... FPS mmo, looks neato... fps mmos ftw.

    did i miss anything?

    I just wanted to post about this because I am getting a little overwhelmed by the choices, even though I don't really want to get involved with a subscription game atm. Homework first :p

    Yea after WoW there are a bazillion MMO's coming out :lol:

    Add Age of Conan to the list. Being raised a Conan fan I'm interested in this one quite a bit.

    There's also the Stargate Worlds MMO

    And since you're listing games that are getting expansions and facelifts:

    EVE: Online - gets free expansions regularly (bout 1/year it seems) and CCP is doing a graphical engine upgrade for dx9, as well as building a new dx10 client. As it is, EVE looks pretty awesome and its 3 years old. This game has won numerous awards, both at release and yearly.

    I may have said this before, but I think WoW is going to be the last of the totally massive (player base wise) MMOs. Developers that do not have totally massive budgets are going to find they will have a greater profit to appeal to a certain group of gamers over trying to please everyone, and so you will find a growing number of niche MMOs. Hence why you are starting to see a spike in the number of developers entering the MMO market.


    P.S.
    Holy crap, they are doing a graphics upgrade to EVE!?! That game already looks quite amazing.

    Well, to many MMORPGs...

    Personally I don't know what the big deal is when it comes to turn-based gameplay. If you wanna good game wait for my one :)
