Apparently no one is going to say anything, so I will.

If law-abiding students had been allowed to carry on school grounds.....

I was thinking that when I heard about this. One armed person could have ended this fast.

There are some who are asking this question now...

Yea but most are asking for more laws.

At the least I don't think you should be able to purchase guns and ammo on the internets

Otherwise though agreed, this could have been stopped in seconds.

I purchased my rifle over the internet. They ship it to a gun dealer who has a Federal Firearms dealer license. Although it could vary from state to state.

If one person in that classroom had been armed, it may have been a lot different.

Ah well if it works like that then that is fine and makes more sense.

I need to get to getting my license before they change shit around on me.

  6. Mine is already in the works. My vote is that for CDL Rally 08 we all go to the range.

hehe I'm sure there are plenty of them around.

To do mine I need to take a couple gun safety courses first.

Not the students armed but the staff.

Nothing personal but I wouldn't want to teach a class and wonder if one of my students may go crazy and pull their gun or go down the hall and get in the middle of a gang shootout.

Several colleges allow students to carry. They aren't shooting at each other.

A little research will prove that.

Why are schools (colleges) now a target? They are basically "killing fields". Sick individuals KNOW they are unarmed. Easy pickings. Because "for the children" MAKES them easy targets. Why some don't understand this is beyond me.

Also, they say VA Tech is the worst school massacre. No it isn't. Oh, wait, it is the worst GUN massacre (see how this works) in the US, but not the worst.

In 1927, more than 45 children and adults were killed by, imagine this, bombs of dynamite and pyrotol. Dude killed himself with explosives. The rest (500 pounds found around the school) didn't go off.

We are lucky that explosives haven't been used so often.

The morons now choose firearms. The best defense against a firearm is not hiding behind a desk. It is the use of a firearm against the perpetrator.

Once these idiots start getting shot before major damage is done, the less likely the copycats are to try it. Very simple.

If you want to kill lots of people with a gun, don't go where there are lots of guns that will turn on you. Show me the falacies of that.

"An armed society is a polite society." That is FACT. Why? Not because I'm afraid of who has a gun, but because I CARRY a gun, and do my best NOT to get in a situation to use it.

However, in a situation that requires lethal force, I will be somewhat prepared. Doesn't guarantee anything, but my chances are a heck of a lot better at survival than those who aren't armed.

Better to have it and never need it, than to need it not have it.

THAT would be really cool! I bet a few haven't ever been to a range and shot any firearms. It actually does change a persons frame of thought. Especially when SAFETY is the ultimate goal.

I have taken my sister shooting....many years ago, and she loved it. But I was very adamant to the safety. We were shooting my .357 Magnum. I would NOT hand her the firearm loaded. The firearm was handed to her with the wheel hanging out, she had to load it. And the "NO finger on the trigger" was explicit until she was aimed and ready to shoot.

Firearm safety is all about common sense. And the main thing...NO FIREARM IS UNLOADED. I don't care if you drop the mag, clear the chamber and show a clear chamber to someone....when they take possession, THEY MUST check the chamber, and STILL act as if the gun is loaded. Just common sense.

  11. See, here you guys got me again :)

If there are laws that they cant have fire arms on campus, then why did this person have a firearm on campus, i mean there are laws right??? he should not of done that!!! Laws protected everyone didnt they???? Sadly that is not the case, so we make these laws, but the only ones that follow it are the law abiding ones, its not going to make the criminals follow them anymore than they already do. So they cant buy guns or ammo legally, they probally did not get it legally to begin with, so posting a sign that says no guns is not going to keep them from bringing a gun on campus is it??? by making all these laws that are only affecting the law abiding citizens does not change anything. there is still going to be crime commited with guns, and it is still just as illegal as it was before the laws, only difference is it makes us who would not dream of doing that with our guns and use it for range shooting and sport illegal.
