Eventually my home town will be a movie set

I live in Wichita KS. What you outsiders would call a surprisingly large city. Though it cracks me up when I have someone from LA in the truck, turn a corner onto a dirt road... in the middle of the city.

However I am from a little town about an hour away called Winfield. Or Beanfield by those of us that escaped the place.

As I was trying to figure out what horror movie to subject my girlfriend to last week I realized Winfield would eventually be Silent Hill.

We have a colloquialism that I use to this day. "Third Hill" as in,

"He lost it. He went completely Third Hill."

"I've had it, I'm dropping the kids off at Third Hill."

Perched on the third hill outside of town is an old mental hospital that was built around 1882. Actually to be more accurate, it was constructed as an "asylum for feeble minded children".

I never realized just how creepy the entire thing sounded until I started telling my GF about it. After the stint as an asylum it was converted to a prison and a veterans hospital. The entire complex is built over a series of limestone caves. With the "made for TV" requisite that over the years patients and prisoners have gone missing.

Plus generations of locals that use "third hill" as a synonym for any mental condition and something children would taunt each other with. ("You live on Third Hill")

Yeah, my home town is horror movie set just waiting to happen.
