    Action shooter, not an MMO, but it has micro-transactions.. :confused:

    The ray trace style of graphics is nice, and I can live with toned down graphics if it improves the gameplay.

    However..

    Unless they're going to change directions a bit, this is just another glaring piece of evidence of how the whole MMO/FPS dev community are a bunch of spineless cowards. Unless you're going to attempt to at least match, but even better, BEST the work done on Planetside, why bother? You'll just have made, yet again, another shooter with a few tweaks to the formula that's been done a thousand times over from Doom to Counterstrike, to Tribes, etc etc.. It's like throwing money away.

    I swear I don't know why devs keep doing this..

    I see it's also free to play which is nice and sandbags my rant, but I guess I just want to see a proper MMOFPS or I lose interest quickly

    Gameplay looks like Borderlands, which was acceptable to me. But if it's coming out in 2011, it's going to take something of Planetside-like proportions to pull me away from The Old Republic.

    I got a beta invite many months ago... sometime this spring IIRC. I tried it, was less than impressed, never touched it again.

    Granted, that was a long time ago and it could be much better now.
