Hehe. Looking forward to playing tonight.

  3. What's the deal with not having inverted flight controls? Was already having a tough time being forced to use WASD (ESDFer) I can't unlearn 20 some years of inverted mouse.

One thing I found last night was the thrust controls weren't working for me at all with my HOTAS setup. Even when I went to KB/mouse it didn't feel like I was going anywhere unless I repeatedly hit the W key instead of keeping it pressed down.

  5. If your HOTAS was still plugged in when you went to Keyboard its throttle control could have been trying to overirde the keyboard causing your Thrust to not stay consistent.

However I did notice sometimes my thrust would drop, but most of the time it stayed where I wanted, but I decouple so much I am constantly going from dead stop to thrust so maybe I don't notice as much. I did catch myself often forgetting I am not moving though

  6. Check your game options I am pretty sure I saw an invert check box in there.

Looks like you can potentially switch weapons/missiles around on your ships if you own the variants..

  8. yeah I was flipping around my weapons on the Hornet last night lol. I may grab an extra hornet just to play with the guns till I need the money again and just remelt it lol

  9. Only works when I'm in the hanger.

  10. Bummer :( well head to the RSI forums and leave a feedback for them to add it next build :)

  11. Shield Boosting:

PSA: you can boost your shields individually, on the fly.

While power-management of your whole ship-system, as revealed here[1] , takes quite a few key presses, you can shift shield-strength between your shield components easily.

Pressing RControl + Numpad 8 will boost your forward shield, taking shield strength from your other shield(s). You do need to hold the key-combo until you have raised the shield strength to your desired level, but it maxes out fairly quickly.

    Combos for other shields:

RControl + Numpad 2 to boost rear shields

RControl + Numpad 4 to boost left shields

RControl + Numpad 6 to boost right shields

RControl + Numpad 5 resets your shield system to default (balanced) strengths.

These key combos can easily be assigned to HOTAS or gaming-mouse gear using proprietary or third-party software. I have them all assigned on my CH Products throttle. With Voice Attack or another voice-control system you could also execute them audibly, avoiding even the short key-holding time necessary. (Voice Attack and other voice-command utilities do execute commands in a delayed fashion; the delay is generally on the order of 0.5 seconds.)

If you are exchanging fire with an enemy in front of you, for example, you could boost your forward shield. Just remember to reset your shields or boost appropriately as the combat situation changes.

  12. Going to be binding those to my mouse keypad.
