The CDL is always looking for opportunities to game. We always seem to want to find another excuse to fill our days with endless gaming - in my humble opinion a most noble pursuit! Dragon Wolves constantly roam the wilderness of the "New Release" sections of gaming stores, peruse the jungle of fan sites busily supporting the game of their choice or they can be seen scanning the glossy pages of gaming magazines just hoping for that one new game that will pull us into a new game where we can work together.

So what have we found recently that has piqued our collective curiosities? Besides being totally immersed in WoW, and even starting a new division in a PvE server, we are taking a long look at Battlefield 2 in the near future and we have also been trying out the new Guild Wars game recently released.

The new division started in the Agramar server is strictly a regular server where PvP is by selection only. It is providing the needed break from repeated ganking to some of our members who wish to focus more on game content and the fullness thereof rather than having to watch their "six" constantly or have higher levels escort them everywhere. Look for us there if you are interested.

Battlefield 2 is looking to be a promising new game that has a rich history in the Battlefield series. The CDL has a lot of play-time in this series of games and we look forward to maybe even cranking up a competitive team for BF2 if it meets our expectations. Keep an eye out for us when that game is released.

The latest attraction to bring a tickle to our fancy is Guild Wars. It is a game that is unique in that it does not require a fee to play on the servers. That in itself is enough reason for some starving Dragon Wolves to try it out. The game seems to be an eclectic construction of many different famous MMORPGs that are out there right now. Plus it has the feel of some tried and true games we have been involved with such as Dungeon Siege. Guild Wars is fun so far and we have some who are giving it a whirl.

Just in! The newest draw to our team is the peeking-over-the-horizon release Dungeon Siege II. The beta has only recently been released on File Planet and I know for sure some of us will be downloading that gem. Dungeon Siege II has some die-hard followers within the CDL due to the large success of the first in the series. We look forward to this game hitting the streets.

All in all we as the CDL have many new games, as well as the current ones, to keep us locked to our desks for some time. We, like any ardent gamers, probably need more sun on our pale bodies, and we probably haven't had significant social interaction (outside of games, or online chat rooms) since Diablo, but we know that someone has to pay the price, the HIGH price, of sacrificing ourselves that we may game.

Boy, it is rough being a gamer.

Yet we never made a Racing Club. Would be nice to have a few to form a line to draft to the front and win a few races!!

Besides...nothing like doing 185+mph down the backstretch of Tally or Daytona drinking a beer!!!!

Or doing some bumper cars in the Bristol smash-em-up derby!!!!

Or even trying to find some traction at the Lady in Black...ole Darlington....gotta love them walls!!!

It was fun...every Saturday...guys I didn't know outside of racing...about 8 of us, would get together. Around 10-11pm EST, start drinking and racing. Others would join us, and the track would change after every race. We didn't care, we were racing!! And it was fun! I personally hate road race tracks, but on those nights, they were a blast. On occasiaon I would see someone turned upside down...I would slow down, bump them, so they would be upright.....winning wasn't a priority...having fun was.

And one part of the fun was watching to see who passed out first...you could tell...their car would go straight into a wall..."Yep, he's out"...hehehhehe

And that wasn't always from drinking...we would start at around 10-11pm at night and go well beyond 10-11 the next morning.

We had a bond there, those that showed up every Saturday. I accidently bump one on a superspeedway and he goes spinning..."No biggie...Probably my fault anyway" when it was clearly mine.

We were there to race, but more importantly, we were there to have a good time. And boy did we ever have some good times!!

When NASCAR Racing 2003 Season came out, I lost those guys...could never find them...perhaps they stayed with the previous version...not sure.

Oh, and just so everyone knows...NASCAR Racing 2003 Season is NOT an EA Sports game. It was done by Papyrus, distributed by Sierra.

EA bought out Papyrus after that game....and it will never be as good as that game. If you can find NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, get it, as it will be the best NASCAR sim game you will find. EA will, as has been seen by their other NASCAR games, mess it up.

Who wants to rub some paint?!

  3. Ohh-ohh~!!! Pick me~! :D

    ~PM~
PS - I don't have too many racing games. However, I believe Racewiz has like...all of them~!

  4. I have all the Papyrus titles and I bought EAs last PC game. Its not bad but needs work on AI, car damages and a lot of other stuff that I could list. I would like to try to race on line. Everytime I have on the past some joker thought it would be fun to wreck everybody instead of racing. :D
