Z0dd Mod aka Base++

  1. I was reading TWl this mod looks like it would definately be cool to check out, more of a bug fixer then anything else but still alot better the base!

    (Description)
    Changes to base to make Tribes2 more enjoyable and bring
    balance to broken game elements/items.

    (Credits)
    - ZOD (?)
    - z0dd (z0dd@adelphia.net)


    (Install)
    Put z0ddZODm0d.vl2 in the base directory and delete all .dso
    files under ...\Tribes2 folder.

    (Uninstall)
    Delete the z0ddZODm0d.vl2 file in the base directory and delete
    all .dso files under ...\Tribes2 folder.


    -------------------ARMORS-------------------
    - Slighlty quicker skiing
    - Higher max speed
    - Reduced the suicide spawn delay from 10 to 3 seconds.
    - All armors move slighlty faster in water
    - Slight increase to vehicle ejection hieght


    -------------------PACKS-------------------
    - Cloak: Significantly reduced energy consumption
    - SJP: When off, jams all non-camera sensors. When on, does the same over a small radius


    ------------------Vehicles------------------
    - All: Sensor radius now displayed on cmd map
    - Bomber: Takes a bit more damage. Bombs have more kickback
    - MPB: Greater turbo power & higher top speed. Added teleporter. Turret sensor properly displayed on cmd screen
    - Shrike: Fixed crosshair disappearing after using cmd map
    - Grav Bike: Slighty higher top speed.


    -------------------WEAPONS-------------------
    - Disc: Removed spread. Discs skip off water on ~20 degree impact. Higher kickback
    - Missile Launcher: Slightly higher velocity. Slightly longer duration
    - Mortar: Changed detonation delay from 2 seconds to 1.5
    - ELF: Reduced range by 20%. Changed it from 37 to 30
    - Camera grenade: Fixed the fisheye problem. Cameras detect jammed enemies


    ------------------Turrets------------------
    - Missile Barrel: Missile slightly sped up
    - Plasma Barrel: Projectile slightly sped up and does more damage


    ------------------Stations------------------
    - Remote Invs: Removed the viewpoint centering spin on contact
    - Vehicle station: Quick-buy keys are the same for every vehicle on every map.
    - Vehicle station: Vehicle selection HUD will be redisplayed if you try to buy a vehicle that can't be
    purchased on this map or the max number of that vehicle type is already in use.

    You know, it seems to me like some of that shit is just common sense. Like the suicide thing, always pissed me off that I had to disc myself to death instead of just suiciding, and the plasma turret fix b/c the turret is just ghey and nobody uses it.

    Also never understood what the deal was with the invo centering you, always found that ghey. Anywho, I'll have to check out the speed enhnacements.

    Looks cool though.

    It really is just that basically a patch fix almost. I mean hes got rid of crap thats just flat out lame and added some features.

    Hell Dynamix fucked with speed in the game constantly the elf IMO is a total fuking joke the range on that BS is crap and the pure fact that it doenst even drain energy is a joke!

    Yea you can get aways from it by 2 methods 1) Dj or 2 Mines but the fuking range doenst break until around 40M thats crazy Elf whores are as bad as CG whores. Its a valid tactic but its also an exploite in the weapon. Still its tough then even after you break it you have to contend with the CG whores or getting run over or getting sniped, this game is puerly structured around Defensive weapons that are just way too unbalenced.

    Such things as having 3 fuking HOF on Rever is flat out ghey!

    Turret Deployment that is just stupid along with too many rules for placing an INV on ground that looks flat but keeps giving you and error! T1 you bent over and whamm it was deployed!

    Oh and My biggest freeking gripe the gawddam doors in this game are way too small for even 1 Lights to get through.


    etc etc..........

    However I still love the game of Tribes and am counting on lengends to be allthat its supposed to be no other game online even comes close to the type of gameplay that Tribes does bugs included :p

    Dont rely too much on legends.

    As for this mod, I played a PU on it once. But it was when he first started working on it.. i didnt notice a ton of difference.. things were definatly faster :p

    One conflict starts, everyone goes their own seperate ways. Its just not meant to be.. its a bunch of guys doing it for free, one of them will get greedy. Like ive been saying all allong, if u like T1 so much go play T1. :|
     
  8. I guess I dont really hate T2 I may bitch about this and about that but over all I think its a cool game over T1.

    If there were any aspects of this game I would change it would be 5 things.

    1) Get Rid of UE's.

    2) Make after burners allow you to go as fast as you can.

    3) Make the Elf distance shorter.

    4) Make the Cone on the CG smaller.

    5) And increase Ski speed!


    Other then that Id be happy :D Base++ does most of this thats why it looks interesting!

    lengends does more of this but uses the T2 Engine which would make it really cool, I dont know why anyone would get greedy people spend alot of time making mods for free and there really is no greedyness there!
