I have some of you on my Facebook feed, but not all. I just wanted to drop in to say hi, that I am still alive and kicking, and that I am working on a few really exciting projects!

Now, some of you know that I like to draw, but not all of you know that I've been taking comic book creation courses for a little over a year, now, with industry pro, Ty Templeton. Through Ty's course, I've met many local artists and writers and earlier this year, was working really hard with a local writer on a story which has since been published.

Since then, I've been recruited to join the second volume of the anthology in which I already participated, as well as a project which is being published out west for which I'll be inking and lettering.

In addition to these publicity/exposure jobs, I've been working on my own stuff. A homework assignment in Ty's writing class inspired a story which is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming.

When I completely the comic, (it's a 28 page comic) I will be making it available online, for free, in black and white.

So, this is where I humbly ask you, my old friends, to please give it a read and distribute it to people you know. I really need the exposure and have finally identified and am chasing my new dream: to professionally produce comics and graphic novels.

All of my current projects are on my blog at http://www.jupe.ca/blog/ under the Projects link. I have yet to post anything from the work I'm doing for The Red Surge, but that'll come as I begin, as well as when I finish.

Thanks again for being awesome, everyone. If you have any questions, let me know.

I try to keep up but fall behind. Two little boys keep me super busy. One is six now, the other is three. They make me feel like :spinfusor all the time :p

Nah, Mani, I know better than to teach them how to shocklance.

I should draw a mini comic of me lancing you in the back. For old times sake. ;)

I'm sure you have plenty of demos recorded of those events. As I remember, there were a lot of them.

I don't actually have any of my old tribes demos, but I did immortalise you in one of my tribes 2 videos. The second, IIRC.

Not sure where the video is these days. I thought I had it on my youtube channel, but it isn't there.

Okay, I'm alive, I swear. I just don't have a lot of time for messageboards these days and I keep up with most of you on Facebook and Steam.

What is jupe working on now? A 32 page comic about a teen lesbian, a derpy dog, and a lot of bacon. I've been posting pages to my tapastic account and to the facebook page.

I think about you guys all the time, but I'm mostly a lurker, as you know by now. Just know that I've been working my buns off on this comic and am actually planning on launching it mid-summer in full colour published form.

The best news? You can read the comic for free in black and white; I'm only charging for the coloured version. If you want to see thumbnails of the page so far, you can view the gallery on the facebook page!

There are quite a few mature themes in the story: lesbianism/LGBTQ/coming out; atheism; animal cruelty; domestic violence... but there are also a lot of warm and fuzzy themes such as friendship; love; companionship; coming of age.

Anyway, that's about it for now. I love you all!
  16. Bacon.................................what's that taste like anymore, lol

i've been deployed again, this time to a place that does not serve bacon or ham. gah. and to top it all off, i get sent forward for the last month or so. blah. oh well, times almost done.

    great work on the project!!

    and i remember ministry :)

    An update:

Strays is almost coloured and will be launching for Pride Week Toronto in June :) The Kickstarter begins next month. It'll be a 36 page full colour comic. I'm soooo excited!
  20. Nice to see you back around, jupe, it's been an age :)
