Mark your calendars for November 22 and make sure to move your frozen turkey to the refrigerator for defrosting on this date if it's average size of 15-18 pounds. You need at least 24 hours for every five pounds of turkey.

You don't want to pull out a partially frozen bird the morning of Thanksgiving unless there are some pesky relatives you just *have* to invite every year that you're wishing, one day will turn you down and spend the holiday elsewhere. You could serve a beautiful golden brown turkey, crispy on the outside yet comes with a risk of frostbite and requires the use of an icepick to break out the giblets. And, no, that red sauce it's swimming in isn't cranberries. It's sure to be a Thanksgiving they'll never forget!

Another option is to use Mani's plan. Skip the defrosting all together. Just drive up behind a live turkey on Thanksgiving morning in one of these babies: [IMG]

Turkey soup in a can? yes! yet another alternative to the defrosting process. Thanks for your recipe idea, TB! :p~

yeah, we're hoping the turkey will just drop dead of a heart attack when it sees that thing pull up behind it because if he shoots, probably all that will be left of the turkey is the beak and the feet.
